What does a chemical peel do?

Peels work by removing layers of skin cell buildup to reveal a softer, smoother complexion. Chemical peels can be used to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of acne-prone skin, improve the appearance of mild scars, dark spots and improve overall skin tone and texture.

Will There Be Downtime?

Yes, there will some be downtime with chemical peels. If you elect to add a chemical peel to your facial, downtime will depend on the peel selected:

  1. Light Chemical Peel – 2-5 Days 
  2. Light dryness & flanking medium Chemical Peel  5-8 Days 
  3. Moderate dryness & flakingDeep Chemical Peel – 1-2 Weeks 
  4. Moderate – severe dryness or flaking

Deeper chemical peels will generally produce faster results but also come with increased redness, irritation, and downtime (time required for the skin to heal).
